CrossFit Léman participated in the ESCA Dragon Boat Race at the Lac de Joux to raise funds for cancer research.
We won our first heat with a wide margin and a time of 1:46, however we had a wobble on our second heat where we paddled at too high a stroke rate missing first place by 60 hundreths of a second. No worries though, we fixed our stroke rate in the third heat, with some of us switching sides to give the ‘rowed’ side a rest. We won the third heat rowing ‘left handed’, qualified for the final but in second place behind the Ecolint Rowmance team.
Going into the final those that had just rowed their ‘left handed’ side switched back and we dominated the final sprint winning without the need for a photo finish. Our final was also the fastest time of the day of any boat in any category (1:40.14).
Thank you to the team for rowing your hearts out it, we had a great time.

Proud of all the Slayers! Excellent rebound from Race 2. And way to dominate the competition!!! Can you imagine our capacity if we really knew how to paddle?
